Petition to legalize prostitution in India. To whomever it may concern and who has the authority to legalizing it especially the Hon'ble Home Minister.
Respected Sir(s),
We are the citizens of this great nation India and we most humbly request you to legalize prostitution in India. We will give reasons for the same which we may find it sufficient so that you may agree that such step must be taken for legalizing it. Here are they:
1.) IPC 377 has been decriminalized. So, why not prostitution?
2.) There are many r**e and mol*station cases around in this nation.
a.) The r**ist even if he is punished, it does not bring back the lost honor of the girl/woman.
b.) Both the life of the r**ist and the victim is damaged in this way.
3.) It may be a source of earning for the unemployed.
4.) Not legalizing prostitution forces the agents and the prostitutes to charge higher rates from their customers as they have to do it secretly and may have to bribe authorities for their activities to continue.
a.) Higher rates forces the customers to gain income or cash illegally which increases the crime rate more.
b.) It leads to bribing of officials which increases in demoralization of code of conducts of public officials.
5.) Extra-source of income as taxes etc. can be created by legalization for the government.
Therefore, we can see that apart from minor disadvantages like the fear of spread of diseases like AIDS etc. which can be controlled by distributing condoms, legalization of prostitution solves many problems than it creates. We should therefore, not ignore such big profit over few losses.
